Be part of the energy transition

Discover how we're going to help you change the future of energy.

Our mission

The Centre for Masters’ Training in Energy Transition (CMT) promotes access to resources and training for the next generation of geoscientists and engineers to successfully meet the climate change challenge of attaining net zero carbon emissions and delivering sustainable energy for the 21st Century.

A collaboration of UK universities and industry

We bring together UK universities with a strong track record of energy related geoscience and engineering masters training, with leading energy companies and industry training providers.

For prospective students, we promote universities active in energy transition teaching and offer a portal to quickly access information on courses and careers.

Companies are encouraged to provide information on their activities, resources they offer to promote training and the financial and technical support they provide to Universities in this area.

Energy is the enabler of all human activity in modern societies. This makes affordable and environmentally acceptable energy one of the defining challenges of the coming decades.

Ernst Ulrich von Weizsäcker / Co-President of the Club of Rome
